HURREC Marks United Nations Day For Human Rights

Human Rights Research And Education Centre (HURREC) has marked the United Nations Day For Human Rights themed “The Youth And Fundamentals Of Human Rights” on the 10th of December, 2022.

Speaking at the event in Lagos, a human right activist, Dr. Dayo Kayode, said “Youth have to develop themselves. They have to come up with their vision. Youth have to develop action plan to achieve the vision. The youth have to be resilient”.

“The world is all about struggling, if you don’t struggle to get what you want then you won’t get anything. Agitation without participation will lead to situation perpetually the way it is”.

“Youth have to be actively involved in ensuring they achieve their goal. It is only youth that can stop youth, that is, it is you that can stop you”.

Dr. Augustine Okechukwu Agugua, President, HURREC said, You have a fundamental right that must be respected even as people living with disabilities. That they have right to be respected. They have right to be given opportunities. They have right for platforms to be created for them to actually exercise and exploit their potentials.
